In December 2016, we announced our plans to acquire what are now Astria Regional Medical Center, Astria Heart Institute and Astria Toppenish Hospital and return them to nonprofit status. That announcement became a reality in September when we completed the purchase of the hospitals and they joined Astria Sunnyside Hospital as a part of our family. In anticipation of their acquisition, we planned the rollout of our new brand name, uniting all parts of the organization under a single name. We introduced our new Astria Health brand name and logo in October. A beacon of care Our new name is derived from the root meaning star in Latin and truth and justice in Greek. The Astria Health logo symbolizes an organization in motion—constantly moving forward—finding new and better ways to help people navigate healthcare. The new logo embodies the nature of our organization acting as a beacon for people living and working throughout the Yakima Valley who deserve excellent healthcare delivered close to home. Astria Health is now the largest healthcare system based in Eastern Washington. Each of our more than 38 clinics and all three hospitals carry the Astria Health brand, making it easy for people to find us quickly and conveniently. As we continue our journey in 2018, we look forward to the ongoing growth and develop- ment that awaits us. We anticipate exciting improvements to Astria Sunnyside Hospital, Astria Regional Medical Center, Astria Heart Institute and Astria Toppenish Hospital.
